Fennel (herb)

I'm growing fennel for the first time this year and OH wants it at home (rather than on the plot) for quick access when he's cooking.  Our garden is tiny, and I know that fennel isn't exactly a neighbourly plant so it'll be going  in a pot -  but does anyone know of anything that it actually gets along with that I could squeeze in with it?!

No but it is very thirsty so provide it with a saucer... anything with low water requirements.. I would try something like eccremocarpus if there was something behind for it to climb...
