Hi
Any comments on the above greatly appreciated.
I'm clearing an area on the bottom of my plot which i would expect to have ready by end April / start May.
Is this too late for maincrop spuds Pink Fir Apple & Maris Piper?
I'm on a south facing slope in Essex.
Thanks.

I would say you have plenty of time particularly if you don't get an early winter.

I'm just getting round to thinking of putting my 'earlies' in

Next week perhaps  :-\

Thanks for that - I'll rest easy now.
Great website btw.

Loads of time yet. I haven't planted any spuds at all; they'll be going in over the next couple of days.

Meanwhile I've found loads of Cara coming up from last year. They all died back in the drought, while Charlotte flourished until the blight hit them. I've now got a mass of mini-spuds from an inch across down, which are going to be a nightmare to get out. It's a pity because it looks as though they'd have cropped well with more rain.
