Not grown any but bought some 'Oignon Rouge de Simiane' from France also (even tho they're Italian!!??!!) in October - which after a quick Google, is the same thing.  I'm guessing they woud be treated the same as "normal" onions?  Shall we do an experiment and see?!

:)
Thank you to all who donated to the Moonlight Half Marathon Walk in aid of St Catherine's Hospice - my mum and I raised just over £300!!!    ............     Thanks!  :-)

I bought some cipolla rossa lunga di firenza ?onion/shallot seeds from Seeds of Italy.  I liked the picture in the catalogue, but have no idea how to grow them!!

Shall try to follow the very limited instructions on the packet and hope for the best!!

Let me know how you get on Cambourn and Sally_C, and I'll let you know how I get on.

Try this website - might give you the results in a wierd grammatical order, but could be worth a try!

I bought some endive presumably from the same company as yours Cambourne,  I was really impressed with the presentation, two little foil packets and the plant label all included for the same sort of price we pay for standard packs.
