Only about 7 came true and I left three in as they were small and was waiting to grow some more but alas birds I think have eaten all the leaf corners. I can see they were starting to have a spurt on so if I leave them  will they grow into something I can use??

I'm curious  ???

When did you plant them? I treat my savoys as a 'winter veg' and I have been eating them since November??

It comes across to me that you planted them too late??

Checking my diary it doesn't say when I planted but ready between Dec-Mar. The ones I left were small so thats why I left them in but will the grow any more Tee Gee or shall I just pull them up? After the birds eating the edges. They have done it to my spring greens too.
Teegee Check my blog for picture of savoy on sunday 18th Feb.

They require a long growing season I sow mine end of April.

Last year it was 18th April, took 5 days to germinate pricked out on 27th April and planted out 29th May. Were ready in October/November.

No! I would treat them a a 'leafy' veg and just pick the more succulents leaves near the centre and get them in the pot!

What I can't understand is; why they haven't hearted what variety were they? I have found 'Wintessa' reliable see here; http://tinyurl.com/3xpxjp

I think you might have to invest in some bird netting! and if you do get good quality nets it pays in the long run I have had mine for many years.
