Why won't she tango?

I have tried my hardest to get her to go and learn to tango, but after the intro that used to be on the telly she says its 'dirty dancing' and will not have anything to do with it.
If I suggest that I will take the merry widow up the road, I do not get any tea for a few days.
How can I convince her to go? perhaps I should have asked before I decorated her dancing shoes.
