School plots

In the process of setting up raised beds for a gardening club at school and wondered who else had done it. Rather than trawling through finding funding and groups etc.online could someone offer any advise or point us in the right direction?

Wow, I just finished writing to you. I work in a school and we  just recently talked briefly about  doing a garden in an enclosed quadrangle area. I was told that we can no longer do tomatoes as the leaves are poisonous, do you know anything about that? Seems a shame if it is true. I would volunteer if the restrictions were not too tight. Would you be able to  let me know if you get a spare minute how it goes for you. Thank you  XX Jeannine

Yep i joined the garden organic group. We have also joined Eco School.  I phoned the council and they will beable to give us ONE compost bin LOL. 

Has anyone had any success in scrounging freebies from local business ie. tools, seed etc.  I dont feel like sharing my £30 tools LOL

Hi Olive Oil  why not ry your local charity shops I am sure if they could help they will.  I work for the local hospice and we often get tools sent to use some better than others and we have donated to scouts and other groups


Go and ask your local Homebase / B&Q ect.. and try

Missed the deadline, try them again, they often have some left and will be glad to get rid of them!

I saw on their website that Seeds of Italy do a pack for schools of returned seeds that can't be resold.
