Hi all,
Just wondered if anyone has ever attempted to remove this software from their computer and if so, how?  I bought a laptop from PC World and it was automatically on there, but the thing is I don't have internet at home so the laptop doesn't have internet, therefore Norton is never going to be used, and it keeps annoying me by popping up and making things slow.  So I tried to remove it by using the "Remove Software" bit in the Control Panel, but it would not let me.  IS there another way to do it because I want rid!

I had the same problem. Hated it after I installed it. Couldnt delete it neither. I did it the long way:

Open 'Program files'
Select 'Norton Anti virus'
Open folder
Delete each section one by one.

This is the only way I could do it. only thing I have left is the Norton AV icon on my tool bar. Cant delete that but all the program has now gone. Icon does not affect running of your PC. Will take you a while. :(

Thanks kt, think I tried that but couldn't do it.

Anyway, by a sheer stroke of coincidence, have just had an IT person in the office to fic something and I asked about it and he has given me some software to get rid of it!  How handy!  If anyone else has the problem they can find the software at

I think it's for if you have problems with Norton and want to reinstall it, but I'll just do it up to reinstalling!
