Tomato - Tommy Toe

Does anyone know when the tomato Tommy Toe was introduced. My gardening group is putting on a display of Victorian vegetables in September and one of the members claims it is old?
I've found it listed on many US seed sites as "heirloom" but then found a definition of heirloom as meaning open pollenated!!!

F₁ hybridisation only came about in the 1950's, Phil. Any variety that can be dated prior to that decade will be OP. I have always taken heirloom to mean a seed strain that has been handed down through many generations in contrast to F₁'s which have to be re-selected every year.

I`m not sure about the heritage of Tommy Toe-but I suspect it is not `old`.

It`s not that special either but that`s just me.
