Sounded nice on the news, we will have to look out for the seeds next year.

Is this the potato which has been bred to taste like the first potato introduced into the UK.
I guess the seed tubers will be a bit expensive initially.

Jill

Do sound good but wonder how blight resistant they are.

hmmm, as if we don't have enough varieties, many of which are brilliant, full of flavour and do exactly what it says on the tin  ;)

not so sure I am for all this intensive breeding either, especially when a plant is not indigenous to a region but anything new will always get a lot of takers  :(

"growers say they have more flavour than normal spuds which bulk up on water"

erm, not if you grow your own!
is it in the sale?

What I am concerned about is the price they will put on these. Will it be a rediculus price because the crop you get from an a certain area is alot less than you would get from a commercial seed potato. So in my opinion less potatos means higher prices.

I wonder how many deadly posinous one they produced before getting this new varitee.. I'd like to try them - but i bet supermarket bought ones still taste rubbish compared to most own grown spuds.

I looked at them last year but was put off as it says they dont boil ( go to mush apparantly ) as i only boil and bake them and sometimes roast probably not going to suit me.

This Year is the Year of the small spud!

So means no person spending more time at the sink peeling! ( I Do and always will!) potatos for chips. Or will it mean more frozen stupid chips in the shoping basket. Peel your own and freeze them!

I always cook and cater for my family! Its fun and I enjoy it I dont have alot of time 13 hour day some time but hey I still make a mean tea from scratch!
