Beautiful, I don't grow them as they don't like the cold... stick to difficult annuals like Morning Glory!
;D

That really is a beauty. My hibiscus shrubs really did well this year as you can see!

ahhhh...i love them. they remind me of my mum. they're a very asian plant. i remember when i used to live in pakistan....our back yard used to be full of them....bright red ones and they smelt lovely too.

my mum used them as cut flowers and to put them in her hair. very 80s!

Oh what a lovely picture that conjures up. I don't suppose you have a pic by any chance?   :)

KevB. I can't believe the size of that flower.  Well done you.  :D

unfortunately not. it was a time when she was really ill with ovarian cancer and we sort of had to sell everything for her...including my dad's camera for the therapy. and then she died so.....couldn't really take pictures of flowers in her hair. well i could have but i doubt that would have gone down well at the funeral  :-X

Heck I'm so sorry to hear that.  I'll PM you.

Whilst in Tunisia a  waiter put an hibiscus flower in my hair and the side of my face was all swollen. I must have an allergy to them. I have twoo growing pots that I got from Kwiksave 2 years ago for 99p each. Ones a red and the others a white, although the white one threw 1 red flower as well this year. If it does it again I will take a pic. I bring them into the kitchen for the winter and so far they have survived.
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"
