autumn sown peas

I am planning to grow some autumn sown peas next month. I have read that i should cover them with cloches through the winter, and my question is this: can i use cloches made of fleece like the ones on the wikki (which i have all the materials for) or will i need plastic ones? I am right on the south coast.

The plastic ones will give better wind protection if you are exposed to the breezes, if they don't take off!
