With the colder weather approaching do you leave your chilli plants outside or do you give them any sort of protection,

What variety is it? Lemon drop and hot lemon ripen to yellow.

As for protection, right now I just leave them to get on with it, the cooler nights seem to make them rush their fruit desparate to set seed before the weather gets them. Later in the season, if a frost is forecast I cover them with some fleece, I have this obsession with seeing how far I can get them outside. Just make sure you don't water them in the evening, they hate the cold wet soil that they then sit in over night.

If I am going to overwinter them then I bring them in before the first frost.
