I would like to grow some 'Ballerina' apple trees in pots.  Apparently this type don't grow as big as the normal trees but the nursery say I still need to plant them in the ground.

Could I still be able to plant them in large pots?

Citrus trees seem alright in pots, what about apples & pears?

My MIL has some inpots for the last decade at least and they are still doing well.. remember to give them a good fed now and then and you should be OK.. make sure the Pots don't nwiden towards the top or they will blow over easily!

Give them good big pots and they should be OK. You'd probably be best with JI compost rather than peat-based; it tends to last longer, and it's heavier so there's less risk of the thing falling over.
