Didn't manage to start digging the pond. slappedwrists. But I did sow some carrots, parsnips and beetroot in large pots and get a couple (literally a couple) of spuds in. Also sowed some aubergines, peppers (two varieties) and basil (six varieties) in pots for more plants indoors. And I sowed some clover on a spare patch of soil.

And the great thing was it was the first time I've been up the my elbows in compost and not ended up with frozen fingers! woohoo spring is coming!  ;D

Trouble is after doing all that lot, even with hubby hefting pots and cutting fleece to size and pegging on, I still managed to run out of time and energy before we could even clear the area for digging.

And tonight when I get home I will be able to see the garden (I'm going to plant up my strawberries!)
gone to pot :D

Slugs - eurgh!  Haven't spotted any here yet (hoping the local hedgehog has reduced the numbers) although I have squashed a number of overwintering snails cosily snuggled in the pots outside.

Heard a HUGE bumble bee (judging by the noise it made!) but didn't actually see it....

Haven't seen the sun since Friday - but remain hopeful for a sighting later today.

But joy!  One of the aubergine seeds I set for pre-germinating has a root - so I'm off to the greenie!  :D
