My GNOH (gardening not other half) arrangement seems to work well for me.  He cracks on with super digging, whilst I slowly, strain myself over a tiny bed.  He brambles bashes whilst I potter about the bonfire. So far so good.

i guess there are pros and cons - i have a gardening partner- we work together too as landscapers - and feel really fortunate. Sure, we have disagreements but i would rather row about where to put the hellebores and whether to go for green or yellow courgettes, than who's turn is it to wash up and who pays the phone bill. We seem to save the really vicious arguments for gardening disputes while being benign and laid back over 'relationship issues'.

Tenuse

I persuaded my Other Half that I would do the allotment all by myself and that it would not involve him in any way, this was a Cunning Plan as I now have an allotment and he comes and does all the hard work because he feels sorry for me hehehehehehehe

So he is a FGOH - forced gardening other half!

Young, dumb and full of come hither looks.

I have no partner so no problems with NGOHs - I borrow Ten's occasionally if I need strong bloke stuff doing.

It's amazing how blokes will come help you if you act all "I could try and do it but you're so much stronger and more able than me"

Works (almost) every time he he he ;D

Mine is being slowly converted to a GOH!  Unfortunately though he injured his back a few years ago and claims he can't dig!!!!  Hmm, excuses excuses!! ;)

My 'NGOH' was horrified last night when I described him as a NGOH. I think he should be a FNGBNBGOH - formerly non-gardening, but now becoming gardening other half!
gone to pot :D
