Having probs with animals this week... Dog keeps running away and doesn't come back when called...that should be "shouted at "really and I have to be within a few feet of her to get her to respond. She is 16 this year and I'm wondering if she is going a bit doo lally ?  Running away like a loony is a new one. Has a manic look in her eyes... returning to the wild??!!

Rabbit is pulling her fur out. Loads of it. Vet says heat or fleas.  :(

Dennis will not even come over to me anymore.

Cat has lost his collar and I've just watched in horror as he was under a van which was moving off ,he walked out and the back wheel clipped him. Will he ever learn? I swear I'll find him squished one of these days. :(

Rats have been seen in my allotment.  They are bloody all over the allotments but because everyone can see into mine it's been pointed out...grrr!  >:(  >:( Talk about glass houses and throwing stones.  Apparently the council says it will intervene if the rats become too much of a problem and people won't be allowed to keep poultry.  They can diddle off an all ! Hmmm. Do they want rid of poultry because of bird flu I wonder? Suspicious mind me.It's a harbour town surrounded by farms..it's rat country folks.

Daughter has a very nasty chesty cough and is keeps being sick. All down her dress and into her shoes whilst out shopping with Grandma yesterday  :( Poor little babe.

OH STILL has not finished the blinking bathroom,Have toilet and bath...not piped up. BBQ on Saturday cancelled (daughter's do)..that is worth a triple grr grr grr!!!  Before you think I'm being nasty...I've had the new bathroom stuff since March and it's his job,it's what he does!

Sun is shining. Dicky has given me a tray full of caulis because mine got zapped in the plastic greenhouse nd some brussel sprouts. Peas are a podding and I've got broad beans to pick. Chicks are all doing well and growing fast. Son went to school in the new England top his Granma bought him yesterday, happy as larry. They are allowed to wear them at school today. He looks the biz with England socks and, because he has swimming today, he has got England boxers and an England towel! His face is like this  ;D

It aint all about niggles is it!  ;D  ;D

Jill

Have to say Heldi your dog sounds just like my 15 yr old son!  Sorry to hear about your other niggles but as you say, it ain't all bad ;D

Heldi

You know what Jill,I think I was making a list of my niggles which in the end helped get them out of my head and made me think of nicer things and also turn tham around...

Dog can go for walks on the extendable lead.

I've put rabbit's fur out for the birds...since I saw a starling collecting nest material only the other day.

Dennis can just get over himself.  :D

Cat has come in...covered in black stuff off the bottom of a vehicle,he's supposed to be white! He's fast asleep upstairs so I know he is safe.

Will tidy up lotty shed some more and put eradirat down.

Will try to think of more ways of enclosing the area and make more private. Saw a boy holding his dog up to look over the fence a few days ago saying "Chickens chickens!",in order to excite the dog.  Luckily theres about 4 feet of nettles between the field and my lotty hahaha!

Daughter  has eaten her lunch and kept it down.  (Shhh her birthday pressie has arrived!)

Bathroom is atleast started.  ;)

The sun is still shining.
I've been outside cutting the grass whilst out there I saw two female neighbours receiving big bunches of flowers....aaaawww! There's a new baby girl nextdoor ;D
I've seen another baby ladybird...first time I ever saw one was last night and now I've seen two!

;D

I was just going to send a "big hug" to you Heldi,  but you can't keep a good woman down!!  :D Good for you!! Problems what problems?  It's like the saying, "If life gives you lemons, make lemonade"!  :)
Sometimes all you need is to blow off a bit of steam and get on with things!
Have a happy day!  :D busy_lizzie

It's hard to count your blessings when everything is going the way of the pear! Glad your daughter is feeling a bit better, Dennis will get over himself, saw this on a card yesterday, thought you might like it...

"Women and cats will do as they please, so men and dogs should just relax and get used to the idea"

Earlier on, Heldi, was going to commiserate - but then I saw Jill's remark:-

Have to say Heldi your dog sounds just like my 15 yr old son!

and collapsed in giggles ;D

Glad you've got your head sorted round things & managed to salvage something from the day!.......baby ladybirds, eh? Don't think I've ever seen one (tho I've seen some small ones.....however would I know unless their Mum was around...hmmm)

lorna

Oh Dear :) So all in all you are not having a bad day ??? ???sorry, have to confess I giggled a bit over parts of your post!!!!

mc55

see, there's always a silver cloud Heldi ... and it could be a lot worse !  Hope you are feeling better xx

Heldi

Thanks guys! You can giggle all you want Lorna because that is what I prefer  ;D  I mean all those niggles are just that and nothing way too serious.

Can I atleast make a shandy with the lemonade BL ??!!

Cassie got walked on an extendable lead, she was a bit miffed and kept eyeing up the direction of the dunes! The rest of us had a nice leisurely walk to school for a change  :)

Noticed this morning that Spook has got quite a nasty gash on one of his hind legs. I'm wondering what with all the black stuff all over him whether he has had a scrape with a car? :(  Hope if he has that it will teach him to keep clear and to stop stalking them. ::) He's been a bit in need of a cuddle but he's also been out into the garden chasing bees.

Dennis might and it's a big MIGHT have a new home.  Someone wants him! I'll be really sad to see him go but OH is sticking to his guns.  :( I'm trying to find the silver lining for that one but am struggling a bit. Atleast the girls will be left alone I suppose.

I have some photo's of the baby ladybird so I will sort them out.

So today has been cloudy but very warm...called for the hammock to be set out. My daughter and I had a good long lie in it singing songs and generally being very lazy indeed...great!  She is alot better today so hopefully will be feeling back to normal tomorrow..for her third birthday...can't believe it!  She has been asking what is in the boxes in the garage that have arrived. (Internet shopping) She reckons one has a rally car in it ( ???) and the other has "Just stuff" .  It is actually full of Fifi and the Flowertots things.  Aaaaw!  Off to get her a wheelbarrow tonight!Oh and I mustn't forget the gloves...she wants gardening gloves!!

littlegem

your so lucky to have kids Heldi, I bet birthdays and xmas's are great, the look on those little faces!  ;D

I'm just going to have to make do with all my pets. still looking towards a small holding to keep my maternal instincts at bay!!!  ::)

Hope you have a gret day tomorrow and that the BBQ is back on.  :)

busy_lizzie

Heldi! You are great, you make me laugh, and I don't want to make you blush, but you are a ray of sunshine!!  Didn't mean you couldn't have a grouse, sometimes it does you good to have a good old wallow! Glad it has been a better day, and you are allowed to have some Pimms in that lemonade, after all it is summer and will suit you lying on a hammock in the sunshine.  :D busy_lizzie

Gem the best thing about birthdays and Christmas with kids is I get to buy toys I wanted as a kid and then...I get to play with them! 'Cept the rocking horse.I'm just too big  :(  :D  This will be probably the first year that my daughter will actually be aware of what is going on...you could give kids a cardboard box and a crisp packet in the first years and they'd be happy!!

Never was into kids but I have found them an absolute blessing and guess what...they LOVE pets...bonus !!!

Have you moved your chooks then Gem?

BL you are indulging me with the Pimms but hey I can handle it!  I'm glad I can make you laugh,it really gives me a good feeling to know that.  ;D

I thoroughly recommend a hammock for spending some relaxing time in the garden. So peaceful, until the RAF decided to do cat and mouse! I bought mine off the net...it was under the title "Glamping"  on firebox.  Had to have it,it was soooo me! When it arrived I called up OH to tell him my essential piece of camping equipment had arrived! "What, a stove?" (Yeah right!) It stayed up in front of the telly (the hammock) for a couple of days until OH got in it an stretched it!  Mind you,I am used to having stuff deposited in front of the tv,had a bath there for almost a week recently. Told my son we were going back to old values and he was to take a bath in front of the fire. Didn't wash.......boom boom!  (Sorry!)

I'm up at this time because I decided to make a trifle after watching Jools Holland.

mc55

Jools Holland was great last night - loved Muse (one of my favourite bands) and Gogol Bordello and Dresden Dolls were fantastic

busy_lizzie

He is not to be missed. One of the best music shows on TV, and they all sing live - brilliant!!  :) busy_lizzie

Ooooh, Heldi, been thinking of you today - and, of course, the Birthday Girl - my Second Fave Little Person ;)

Hope she's enjoyed her birthday and the 'stuff' ?  Any pix, please?

I aint got a clue why I decided to make trifle after Jools Holland...might be something to do with the "couple " of beers I had ??
I'm taking my two sprogs to their first ever concert in July.. Jools Holland at Alnwick Castle. How  8) is that!

My daughter had a goodish birthday, and great as far as pressies go! I didn't, but I'll not winge about that cos it'll make me feel down. (Men!) We've just come back from the beach which has redeemed the day somewhat. It was raining but that didn't matter as the pair of them jumped into the sea...fully clothed ::)  :D

The Fifi presents went down a treat...she loves the Fifi playset. She's wheeled her wheelbarrow and cooked up a storm on her new cooker! She likes mixing...don't we all heehee!

Haven't had the camera out today apart from at the beach so don't have any proper birthday pics. She hasn't even had her Hedgehog Birthday cake  :(

Eeeee just think, three years ago she was born at 10:45 pm during an episode of V Graham Norton!  Scary eh!

Posted young ladybird pic in wildlife board.

One and only picture of sprogs from today.
