Advice on petrol strimmer please

Hi
Not sure where to post this but can anybody give me some advise on petrol strimmers please.
I need it for trimming grass paths and tamming my friends overgrown lottie on a fairly regular basis (he is 93!)
Any advise on make, handle type (D or cowhorn) and cc. Would 25cc be up for the job? how about availability of spares etc.
Any guidance on this matter would be much appreciated.
