I'm planning on purchasing some derris online today, but went to the catalogue and it comes in powder and liquid.  Is either one better than the other?  Is they a particular reason for this?

Thanx

I've tried liquid and powder.

Since I needed it to stop flea beetle on brassicas, and they have a waxy leaf cxoating which makes water run off, the liquid was no use whatsoever!

I powder them now. Downside of that is a) don't breathe it! and b) it has larger lumps in the puffer packs than the hole in the top can cope with - so you have to whack and shake the bottle pretty much continuously while puffing it onto the crops.

If you are doing it against raspberry beetle, then it's probably ok to use either. It's not the nicest stuff  - has been linked to causing Parkinson's disease...

I prefer powder too, you can get it on the under-leaves where the flies are.
Excuse me, just off to powder my brassicas ;)
