after spring cabbages ...

I am starting to pull up the last of the spring cabbages and I am trying to decide what to do with the ground next.

There are some potatoes, which escaped me last year and are starting to grow. So I could put some more potatoes in to fill up the space? (it will be 3 years before potatoes are planted in this place again).

Or, my second option is pumpkin, cucumber and corgette (first time trying to go these). But it only about 3 foot by 8, will there be enough room for one of each plant?

Yes, but the pumpkin will sprawl all over the place. So will the cucumber, but it's a smaller vine, and more manageable. If they start going in the wrong direction, I just turn them back the way I want them to go. Put the pumpkin at one end andf the cucumber at the other, or the latter could get smothered. I hope you haven't got anything small growing next to that bed.

So, would the potato option be better or perhaps just one of the 3 (pumpkin, cucumber, corgette) ?

In that small a space I would go for just one Pumpkin or four Courgette plants. Outdoor Cucs are tricky and you might get nothing for your effort. You shouldn't really allow volunteer spuds to live, we all have them, as they can help spread blight.. if you must ( and I do!) dig them up at the start of July before the main blight season!

if the caulis and broccs are in the same bed, i would go for french beans to give them a notrogen boost

Thanks for all the advice...

I dug up the spuds and added a bag of manure and planted out some turnips that were ready. Still no sign of my pumpkin and courgette seedlings yet. (I might have somewhere else for these, if they germinate)
