I have grown some crystal lemon cucumbers that a supposed to be good for growing outside in pots or a bed.  They are in the cold frame at the moment.  Has ayone got any idea as to when I could plant them out??  It gave no indication on the packet and I don't want to loose them all now.

I put some out (in pots) to harden off a week ago - mistake. Based upon this, I would suggest perhaps the end of the month? I am in the Midlands by the way.
The impossible is just a journey away ...

mine are staying inside until next week
will start to harden off then

hope you enjoy them - they are a lovely taste

Thanks, I'm also in the Midlands so will baby them along until sunny?? June.

Mine are still indoors - although all flowering their hearts out. (Problem is, I don't know what to do about pollination  :-\ )

I`ll watch this one with interest. As a rule I don`t offer stuff for sale unlessIhave grown it,but this year I am growing(and selling) Crystal Apple

I've grown Crystal Apple (Syn) for a decade, I too am in the Midlands, Mine will not go out until June at the earliest, and they do best in a cold greenhouse in a cool summer, just keep an eye out for RS mite and mildew towards the end of the season. The good news is they are open pollinators, which is why the seeds are so cheap compared to F1's, and so you don't need to do anything about pollination other than leave them alone! No faffing about removing male flowers or pollinating with a brush...
Enjoy!

I'm growing these (Crystal Lemon/Apple) for the first time...

a) what sized pot will they need? or will half a grow bag be fine?
b) what sort of support is needed? a few strings going up to the greenhouse roof strut/trellis (inside), a trellis (outside)?
c) what size do the plants attain, and what sort of cropping would be expected?

They are currently tiny (first true leaves) and in a 3" pot.

I,m sure on my packet it said that they are self supporting. Not sure on how much room they need as I am putting mine around my patio.  I'm afraid even though I've got the alotment some of the prettier veggies are sneaking their way into my flower beds!

I put three plants along one wall of the 8x6 Eden Greenhouse, have a wooden frame with bean netting, once they get hold keep weaving them laterally rather than straight up. That does a family of four for about four months or until the mildew gets them, leave the last ones on the plants and you can save your own seeds... if you are only growing one variety.

Thank-you.  :)

I've got two cucumber varieties.... Wautoma, and this Crystal Lemon; one of them will be going outside, the other will stay in the greenhouse. I haven't got around to flipping a coin yet.
