Nest

Can anyone please give any advice on what to do with a bee/wasp nest that I have found in my shed? It is a new home they're building but has already begun the honey comb structure. I don't want to kill them but what should I do?
  I'd appreciate any help at all, many thanks in advance.

It's very early for bee swarms (though not impossible in the south), so my guess it that it's wasp. It's the right time for those. In that case it'll be a little paper ball about an inch or so across, probably hanging from the roof. Therre will only be the one queen bee at the moment. If you're desperate to slay the dragon, do the deed and forget it. But don't worry; I've shared my shed with wasps with no hassle at all, several times. They kill insects by the thousand as well, think of all those pests they'll murder.

Thanks so much Robert... you're right, it's a wasp, or should I say 'was' a wasp. I didn't kill it, wanted to avoid that if possible, but it kindly flew out so then sprayed the nest down and surrounding area, plus the frame of the door where it was getting in with a wasp foam. Went back later this evening and no sign at all. Job done, it seems.  ;D ;D ;D

I have wasps nesting in the bank surrounding my allotment. I didnt have a problem unil I was stung for the second time in a year when one got in between my glove and sleeve - result a nasty allergic reaction - which seems to have sensitised  me. Another sting last camping hol resulted in a casualty visit! I do not have allergies etc however this has really made me very careful. ???
Bees although they have raised awareness  regarding anaphylaxis have been less of a problem, they are less angry, and make honey ;D
