Woke up to rain  :'( but then it stopped.  :D Went to garden centre, then lottie. Planted calabrese, cauliflowers and summer cabbages (from garden centre). Covered with enviromesh. Planted out early onward peas in fibre pots. Early nantes 2 carrots - germinated! Yippee! Few first early pots just showing. Yippee! Broad beans - fine. Rhubarb ready to pull next week. Onions, shallots, garlic, romping away. Gorgeous day, altogether felt like spring has sprung. Pulled last of leeks - OH said "that's the last of winter". Well, we can but hope.

;D ;D ;D

First proper dig on the new plot!! Did the first bit of digging over of the spud bed, hope to finish it and trench tomorrow cos it's a day off, then spuds in on Sunday, also day off!!

Finally got key and access to shed as ex plottie has moved all his stuff now! Snuffled in the corners and had a good look at it, decided which corner the hanging basket is going on, hung my coat on a nail and felt like I had properly moved in!

Two panes in the greenhouse had blown out on Thursday night, but found spares behind the shed and worked out how to use "W clips" so well pleased.

Had to leave too early to go to work this afternoon, but will be back to play some more tomorrow. Great Day!!

Absolutely beautiful day here and i played in the garden all day long  ;D

Gave the lawns their very first cut, loads of dead heading, redefined the borders and dug over the beds, filled up the brown recycle bin until it was over flowing and only stopped when i worried whether if I added any more if the bin men would take it or not.

Reluctantly came indoors at about 6pm when the sun was going down and there was a slight chill in the air, baked some home made bread and made a lovely salmon salad for tea washed down with a bottle of red which i had to share with my gardening handy man  ;D
