giant veg!

:ohello everyone :)
Just wanted some top tips and advice on growing giant veg (mainly onions).
My dad is in to his second year on his alloment and wanted this year to branch into gaint onions for a show in september.
So if anyone has any tips, advice on best ways or best places to get sets/seeds please let me know.

I don't personally grow giant veg, but used to know old boys who did (I used to listen saucer-eyed to tales of wood ash and dried blood). The very first thing was to buy seed specially selected for growing outsize veg. You can find seeds, plus loads of tips on their culture, at:
