loulou and Emma. I bet Alishka has really enjoyed reading your posts!! All that lovely grub and the poor girl hasn't had a thing to eat since Friday lunch :o :o Alishka how about a milk shake through a straw? You can't possibly come to harm with that, get somebody to hand the glass to you cos at the moment I wouldn't trust you with anything electrical, hot, sharp, breakable!! Sorry ::)

Glass, Lorna....GLASS? I don't want to live any more dangerously than I have ;D ;D

And yes, I'm drooling after reading of all those lovely dinners you've all had... :(

Arggh Alishka, I have just read your tale ... scalds are just so painful, thank goodness your eye didnt get affected as well ... just thinking about it is making me flinch.

Use a plastic glass, and one of those bendy straws ...

Oh by the way, leeks and broad beans in a delicious cheesy garlic sauce tonight for me, mmm ...
The impossible is just a journey away ...

One Xmas, about 50 years ago, my Dad went out to the car, had problems starting it and decided to top up the radiator. Or something like that. Net effect was full head bandages for Xmas over a thick oily smelly ointment. All to be changed twice a day. I was just a tiny tot so the memory is all a bit vague, but it must have hurt some.

I think he forgot his own rules and removed the radiator cap when the water was still rather hot. Mind you maybe he made up the rules after the event? :) Anyway he made sure we all waited before opening the radiator.

NOW I got it Lishka! Hope you recovering now, my sides are aching ;D ;D

Knew that You Lot wouldn't let me down........tea and sympathy an all that? ::) ;D

Last w/end was GREAT for me.....no cooking, as such (specially not microwave cooking)......tippie-toed up the garden & nodded approval at the garlic/red onion growth.......into the diddy 6x4 g/house & harvested some parsley from the troughs, did the crosswords in the Sat. paper......Sun. ate aglio-olio-peperoncino+parsley cos gosh! it's Sunday an gotta splash out, then drove one of 'my' old ladies to visit another in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital here in Brum. For an hour's ward visit + 15 minute walk each way had to pay £2.50 in the newly-erected multi-storey car park.....wondered why they didn't have a shuttle bus, or at least erect the car park nearer the bleedin hospital? Saw a bright yellow people carrier with rotating lamp parked. Decided that we'd bring chain-cutters & hi-jack it next weekend. PENSHNER POWER RULES OK

So how was the weekend for you?  ;D

The QE has always been a pain, and it just gets worse. From where I am, it's just a ride on the No. 21, but it must be a nightmare if you have to drive.
