Reliable marker pens??

I'm almost being driven to desperation here.  I have tried so many 'permanent' marker pens to write on my plant labels only to find that within a few weeks of being exposed to the elements there's 'nowt' left to read.  I've tried permanent CD markers, waterproof markers, even cut up aluminium blinds and painted the names of my plants onto those (but they look awful when you have a lot of them).  I really need to have something that won't fade or go brittle and break, something reliable and pretty sturdy to mark out the names of my plants.  Can anyone recommend really good labels or markers that they've tried or tested??
Thanks

Hi Taraven,

My label making kit is for sale on E-Buygumbay, if you look there, or click on this link.

I donate 10% to A4A on any sales generated. Blowing my own trumpet a bit, but they work. I also supply pens on their own at £1.60.

I just use those packs which come with a small pencil from garden centres.  They last for years and it's a heck of a job getting the pencil off at the end of the season.  I've never had one fade yet.

The ones I've got are VERY reliable! I know this because my 3 yr old did some lovely drawings on my bedroom wall with one and I can't scrub them off  ::)

Just looked at the pens though and they haven't got brand names on them? It just says 'Garden Pen' and 'Keep Out of Reach of Children' (Wise advice!)

They came in a set of 3 from the garden centre ... 2 thin ones and a fat one. HTH
