Hi
Does anyone use chicken manure on their plots and is it as effective as well rotted horse manure???  :)

I use pelleted chicken manure for it's nitrogen content.

I also add my own hen's droppings and bedding to the compost heaps as it makes a great addition to compost. Both speeding up the composting process and adding nutrients, especially nitrogen.

I would not use it fresh though as it is potent stuff when fresh. It will scorch plants, leave it to age if fresh.

Same here Jerry. I also made a liquid feed, 3 or 4 good shovels of poo into a 10 gallon container and used it on cabbages and leeks. Ialso used it on my sweetcorn and almost killed them so use sparingly
