Poppy Seeds

Whilst shopping in the supermarket we came across poppy seeds in the food section. They are for putting on loaves and suchlike.

My question is will they grow? Such a big packet and not expensive I had to get some.

I have today put a few seeds in a saucer on damp tissue to see if they germinate. What do you think?

I've grown them from edible seed. The plants looked just like opium poppies but smaller. The flowers were a wishy washy mauve colour if I remember correctly.

Worth a try, it will be interesting to see what comes up. Keep us informed.
