polycarb greenhouse heating?

Does anyone know wether you could use a parrasene heater in a polycarb greenhouse or is it a strict no no ???

It should be ok as the heat will disapate around the house as it rises, especially if it is stood on the floor.

But how big is the house and and the heater?

Hi Jerry :) the greenhouse is 8ft by 6 and the heater is a single burner

Hi Larkspur  thats why i thought i would ask on here because  this greenhouse is going to be my new pride and joy and hopefully home to many new seedlings for the plots  on the allotments ,and i didn't want to find a melted greenhouse the morning after i light the heater :o my oh has put a cable to the greenhouse but that is going to be for the 5 propagators and theres no where better to get some info than on here ;)

I would think it is fine then, the heater will be more of a frost protector rather than a heater.

....in a plastic walkin greenhouse you often see for sale in places like Dyas with no problems.

that heater is very similar to mine jerry and thats all i was aiming for to keep it frost free because the propogators will take care of maintaining temps for plants that need it :)

Last winter I used a parasene paraffin heater on low and it kept my polycarb greenhouse frost free - when I remembered to turn the thing on early enough!
This year I've bought an electric one with a frost setting as my hubby has kindly wired me  (the greenhouse that is) up to the leccy.  I've now got lights, music, electric propagator and it's lovely to sit in there for pottering about and turn the heater up so it's nice and cosy.  Don't tell hubby tho' as he'll have a fit about the bill!  :-X
No problems at all with things melting.

I did it for years with a plastic greenhouse when I was in Cornwall, never had any problems.

Scope....I would'nt have the nerve to ask OH to put electric to the greenhouse,
he'd throw a million fits....lol Well done you ;D

well having had positive responses to my query i shall be giving it a go :) just need the staging to be built, oh bought the wood from b and q today  then its action stations ;D and agapanthus whisper sweet nothings and promises in his ear lol and you will probably get your leccy installed worked for me ::) ;D
