Is anyone able to make stephanotis flourish?

In which case please can you tell me what I am doing wrong.  An idiots guide would be much appreciated

Not very good with flowers normally, but have had one of these in a pot about 30cm dia for at least 6 years. I keep it outside in a shady place in summer, don't let the soil dry out, and keep it sheltered in winter (not indoors but I am in the southeast, so just put it by the house wall, and it doesn't get frozen).
The scent in summer is fantastic. At the moment, the outer leaves are a bit tatty and brown, I'd normally trim these off and replace some of the old compost with fresh around about March time. But I think there are different kinds, some may be more tender than others - mine has quite thick leaves, not like the houseplants that you see labelled as stephanotis in the garden centres.

I have been keeping mine int the porch.  It's frost free but does get quite cold out there.

I've never let it dry out, just damp.  But the leaves are all curly over, is this OK?  It looks SO sad!! :'(

BTW jenny have tried several times to send you an email but it keeps bouncing back.  Hope all is Ok with you.

Well, just in case it's NOT a stephanotis, I show a picture below - warts and all - this is to show how tatty it gets in winter. Not sure about the e-mail Flowerlady? The one I sent the spreadsheet on seems to be working ok.

jenny that looks remarkably like a Trachelospermum !?!

Evergreen, jasmin like sweetly-scented, self-clinging, flowers July-August time?

I have one too and surprise mine is in a blue pot - what taste  ;D

I'll try the email again!

Ah yes - no good at flowers, me - it is Trachelospermum jasminoides, sorry. Not much help on your stephanotis then  :-[

Hi Flowerlady,
I too have a very sad Stephanotis, they look so good when in flower, but I can never seem to get them to flower for a second time, I had mine in conservatory, but after about 12 months with no second flowering I moved it into Greenhouse, the leaves have now lost all there colour and it looks really sorry for itself.  I am seriously thinking of putting it into the compost bin :'(
