Has anyone used these to raise salad plants etc.? Are there any advantages?
I noticed there are both peat and coir version.

My opinion is that there isn't any benefit to gardeners like us. It seems to me an expensive way to grow.
There was a post about this last year, here is a link:

Have raised lettuce using coir compost with good results. Try not to use peat any more. :)

I have just ordered 680 coir Jeffy pellets...they work out to be about 5p each which is pretty cheap. Plus, unlike compost, I can keep the pellets in my loft (no shed at allotment) without making a mess until it is time to use them...Sarah Raven said she uses them for everything and I have heard nothing but good things about them so far!

I ordered them from Kays https://secure.mmm.co.uk/cgi-bin/site-editor.pl/14/-ecommerce. Kays was the cheapest place I could find them by far, but you have to order in bulk. However, I am sure they will get used!

Campanula - do you really use them for everything? Even roots like leeks, onions from seeds, and squashes and pumpkins? I don't know anyone who has used them, all the old timers at my site scoff at my new fangled ways...
