I had a look in the Bull Ring market in Birmingham today; they now have a dozen varieties at 90p/kilo. The varieties will change as they sell out as they don't hav much space, and want to offer as wide a range as they can. They also had five varieties of onion, and red and yellow shallots.

Sheldon, Birmingham.  I've put the pin on Google Earth where my shed is, in the allotments.  It's in an area with a satellite photo which is cool!  You can't miss it, there's a bl**dy great big Airport next door!

Can't remember the name (I have an eyesight problem and don't see these things) but you're probably right.

Wish I could buy them by the kilo :(

I've been buying spuds there for years, but I really need to be more adventurous with what I buy, that's why I posted the thread about baking potatoes. We do very little with them but bake when we can't be bothered to cook.
