Public Apology

In view of the very large number of posts and upsets arising from my recent threads, I wish to make the following public apology. This is a copy of the text I posted on Icy's thread in the Watershed.

First of all, my original intentions with my threads were for simple, honest and altruistic reasons. There was no deep agenda, and I certainly was not intending to have a pop at those who willingly celebrate at this time of year. So to all those that do feel offended, you have my deepest apologies, I had no idea that my actions would cause the degree of upset that has ensued.

Glyn, I accept the intended humour of your original post, I was just unable to appreciate it at the time. I respect the sensitivity you showed by removing it.

Ozzy, Icy and everyone else that has shown me kindness and sympathy, I am warmed by your thoughts, and hope to get stronger as the seasons progress. I would have preferred to keep my situation private, but like I said, I am not ashamed.

To those who were critical of me, well you are entitled to voice your opinion, I am just saddened that Dan had to be involved. I bear non of you any malice. I don't want to be in disagreement with anyone here, life is too short.

And finally Dan, I reserve my biggest apologies for you, this site is just awesome, and somehow I think I have inadvertently caused you a lot of grief. For that I am deeply sorry.

A new year is approaching, can we not all try and make this the happy site it used to be ...

I have an update and a request.

Since the personal message facility has been restored, I have been receiving wonderful messages of warmth and encouragement. May I request that we all endeavour only to send messages that we would wish to receive.

If you feel you need to send something unpleasant, then please send it to me instead ...

NO ONE at all should be sending ANYONE on this site nasty or unsavory messages. That is one reason that the chat and PM facility was stopped in the first place. Please don't encourage this to carry on. It won't do you any good to get them and the people involved will carry on doing it which means Dan might stop chat and Pm's permanently. :o :'(

Amen to that.

Quite right Joji, nobody should want nor feel the need to send mean PMs to anybody else.  I wonder what they could possibly say in a situation like that?  How sad :( 

I very rarely use the PM facility on here because everybody else is a gardening whizz and I'm not, LOL!  Other than my mum (Rosebud) I think I've PM'd about 3x in the two years I've been here! 

Will be nice to see things getting back to normal :)

I have just joined the board after a break since Christmas eve.......

What in Gods name is going on here, why is it necessary for all this unpleasantness this board was never ever like this.............Just look back at this time last year we were such a happy  "family" of peeps on here it seems there are peeps out there who absolutely enjoy causing unpleasantness..............
Please give it a rest and let us get back to how we used to be, we have already lost some valued members over this nonsense............A few more days of this and i am off to do not need spoilt trouble makers everytime i log on.
