How patient should I be??

I rang one of the allotment secretarys on my list on Thursday and spoke to her husband.  He said she wasn't available but he knew that there were allotments available on the site so he would take my name and number and get her to give me a call back to arrange to go and have a look at them.  I was so excited I spent the evening bouncing around.  However, it is now Saturday night and she still has not called me back  :(  How long should I leave it before calling her again?  I keep thinking I should call back straight away incase her husband wrote the number down wrong and my plot gets snatched up by someone else, but then I think what if she is ill or something?  But its nearly February and there isn't much time to get a plot cleared and beds sorted before planting begins!!  Aarrrrgggggggggghhhhhhhh.  I am so impatient!  What do I do????  Somebody sane and logical please help!

Aylana, I was deputy Secretary for  our Site, a few years ago and I didn't mind how often people rang me, after all it was part of  my job to speak to prospective allotmenteers. I hope by now you have rung her,  - after all it could have just slipped her mind to ring you back. Which Site are you hoping to get an allotment on? Thanks for all the encouragement guys!  I tried to call last night before I went out but there was no answer.  I have just crawled out of bed with a hangover so am going to try again once I have had a cup of tea!

Thanks busy_lizzie it is reassuring to have the opinion of someone who has been on the receiving end of the calls!  It is the Denton Burn site which is only a short walk from my house. 

I will let you all know once I have managed to speak to her!

Well I rang again this afternoon, the secretary woman wasn't in but I spoke to her husband again.  He was surprised that she hadn't called me back yet so it might have just slipped her mind or maybe she had tried calling when I wasn't in.  He said that he had mentioned me to the guy who runs the shop they have at the site and it would be fine for me to pop down and ask him to show me the plot they have available at the moment.  He also mentioned that they were expecting a few more to become available in a couple of weeks as the rents are due and some plots have sheds and greenhouses for an extra £5 a year. 

I am busy all day tomorrow but should be able to get along on Tuesday.  Yay, its all very exciting!  ;D
