Unbelievable luck - did a tour of our local lottie sites with husband and child today (legless has got a great site!).  Happened to nip into a small self-managed site not half a mile away from my house.  Chatted to two nice blokes on site - one of whom recognised me as 'the scaffolding woman' (not many of us about!).  There is a half site that has been vacant - and my two new friends will come to the association hut with me tomorrow morning and make sure I get it - and the council lottie man advised me the wait is about a year - its all who you know in the lottie world obviously!  I'll let you know how I get on tomorrow!!!

YABADABADOO! :D
Look forward to hearing all about it.  Nothing better than landing a new lottie - got my eye on the one next door to me at the moment....don't know if I'll get it - has been virtually abandoned for years!  Covered in Marestail and Couch grass....I'm either totally barking or looking for a challenge! :-/

I know what you mean about the mares tail - this one has a veritable forest.  Thanks for the plan via Dan, I'll be busy tonight adapting it to my small site.  I let you know how I get on with the committee tomorrow!

Oooh - have fun - I fiddle about with the page for ages, get fed up, save it and come back to it the next day!  Another great thing about using Excel is that you can add worksheets for different things.  I keep details of seeds sown, how good they were, what I want to try next year, reminders about what I need to do, what I need to buy, etc, etc.

The red text is what I'm planning to grow, the black text shows what grew in that spot this year.  I don't know what I did without it.....Do back it up occasionally though!

Thanks Ozzy, I've been there for several hours today, started clearing up the broken glass, buried bricks etc.  The soil is lovely and deep in places, but mega weed infested.  While I can probably get some old boards from the yard - getting them to South Wales would be a little more difficult!
I'm busily planning - the more planning I do though, the more complicated it seems!  I'm going to get some autumn onions, broad beans and green manure in this September on the bits I've cleared so I can feel I've accomplished something else as well as digging!  Cheers
