Moving Plots

Artichokes moved , now only strawbs rhub and rasps.
Is it too late what with the frosts??

No chance to move anything today, severe frost here last night so just did a bit of digging. Praying for next weekend as the old plot is re rented at the end of November.

Well done Chris, you've worked like a demon...I'm sure the artichoke will pick up come the spring, and if not, they're quite easy to raise from seed. Good luck!

Muck spreading this morning. Not ideal conditions but the farmer had dumped it accross the roadway??
Still not moved the Rhub. Rasp and strawberrys must do it sooner or the old plot will have a new owner.
Not enough Saturdays and Sundays in a week???

Rhubarb and Rasps moved today only strawbs and a few bits to go hope for a decent weekend weather wise next week. Then its all done all settled in my new home.

It's lovely being in a new home, so nice and cosy.  We moved plots this year, October.  Had to leave Raspberries behind for new lottie owner - they kept breaking off at the roots, we just brought the runners, which have taken well.  

Now we are here we can plan for next year. Ooh, That rhymes.  I'm a poet and didn't know it.  ;D

At my age, any newly acquired skill is much appreciated  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D  ... although I would prefer it on the Allotment front, rather than on the poetry side of things.

   Would love to be of some assistance thats if I can walk at the end of it all. The car now has about 2'' deep of soil in the back. At this rate I may start planting in the back of it in the spring.
Now theres a thought a mobile greenhouse. When it gets too warm just drive it into the shade.

I'm moving stuff at the moment, and it's no fun in this weather.
Added to which the chap next to my plots hasn't cleared his ditches, which lead directly into the main drainage ditch, so mine are more waterlogged than usual.  :o
There comes a point where there is such a weight of clayey mud sticking to my boots that I can hardly lift my feet up.
Still, someone kindly commented (grrrr!) that it is really good weight training to tone up the legs, so I suppose I shall have to view the target of getting bushes into place before the weather gets really bad as a sort of workout  ;D

Well finally finished moving everything yesterday and this morning. It really is hard work in the claggy ground.
Not enough time to properly prepare the beds for the rasps so have just heeled them into a patch and will move them when I get the time.
The ground was very wet and if I wasnt against time would have stayed off it yesterday.
Very hard work Roll on the Spring??
