pelargonians.. brown spot.

Have spent a lot of time in greenhouse today inspecting plants and putting some more "parent" plants in for the winter.. On several of my pelargonian cuttings which I took earlier in the year  there are small brown spots on underneath of the leaves.
What is it please, will it spread to all the other cuttings and is there any cure?

Sounds like oedema. More water comes in through the roots than the plant can lose through the leaves and you get corky, bumpy brown areas on the underside of the leaves.

Pretty common problem on pelargoniums this time of year when it starts getting cold and wet. If it is, you just need less water in the soil and avoid getting the leaves wet.

Meant to say - the leaf won't repair itself. The advice to water less is prevention rather than cure.

Thanks Ceratonia. I think even in the greenhouse  am keeping the cuttings too damp. I have now separated them from other cuttings so that  I can make sure and keep them  pretty dry.Your description is very accurate re..."bumpy". I have removed all affected leaves  and  hope they will improve.     Lorna.
