OK I know this may be the wrong thread to post this so I shall appologise now ???

This is just a question about allotment availability in your areas. After watching The Big Dig on BBC2 this afternoon and finding out that one of the sites has a waiting list for like 10 Years  :o :o :o :o I was a little concerned as if we decided to move house then I would have to give up me plot and I would be without a plot which is unthinkable.

So this is the question what is the allotment availability like in your local areas. I dont really mean city.

Hi I've got an allotment in Cambridge and there are some more up for grabs at this site (Vinery Road allotment society - Burnside site)

Thanks!

It's the only way I can remember what I've planted and when because I always forget to write it down!

I think the sites they chose weren't representative. Most areas have plenty of vacancies. Nottingham is around 53% full with sites like mine only just with a waiting list and others virtually empty.

Waiting list on our site now of 15 people. However, about that many have been given notice to get their plots in order or quit so I don't think waiting times are too long.
Make the most of today, because you'll never have it back again.

Hi Snail
I live in west midlands and there are plenty of plots around, I don't think you,d have much trouble if you wanted to move house, just ring the council of the area you're considering and find out if there are any plot vacancies  ;D
