hi all. thankyou all for your replies, im so glad i asked now, was about to dig manure into the whole lot, (i must read my book more) i didnt know root veg go a bit odd in manure, (told you i was a novice) ive been there all wkend planning out lovely eyecatching (practical) designs,haha, but i just want to get something in the ground and have it growing (not dieing like my other attempts the birds had the lot)

so thankyou and im off to buy onions, garlic and beans
