Garlic

I planted garlic cloves around my tomatoes this year, but only in April. Worked fine on the tomatoes (no whitefly) but I'm now wondering whether it's worth leaving the garlic in when I get rid of the toms soon. I know it's not had long enough to grow. Any thoughts, anyone?
