CD Burner- or rather not burning!

My cd burner is refusing to accept that it can burn, or to even detect a new blank CD.

I have tried all the obvious things like ensurning the PC has recognised it as a burner, that Imapi is operational, uninstalled and re-installed the drive, tried previously burned CD's,  re-installed In-CD and also Nero, have tried updating the drivers - but still no joy.

Can anyone suggest anything else  ???

Thanks diesel.  Strangely enough I had just reached that conclusion and as this one came from Novatech have had a chat.  Thankfully they have agreed to replace it having spent about 10 minutes on hold  :-\

But alls well that ends well.  Thanks for your response though - I have to agree in general Novatech are good.  I've used them a few times.

Yeah they are pretty good for returns as well, as im sure you have just found out.  :D
