Derek, they're  wonderful!! Have had a tayberry bush for a few years, I say a bush, more like a triphid really.  But the berries are wonderful, sweet and juicy, they turn a rich purple colour when really ripe.  I have mine supported along wires, central shoot at the middle, but it is in full sun.  Don't think it likes shade. Any questions?  Cos I know this one!!!!!
Please? Question?????  Lottie  ;D

They're like Blackberries, they'll tolerate some shade

Since mine is on the shady side of the greenhouse, I dont think IT will suffer from any shade, the reason for putting it there is to prevent shade onto the greenhouse . . .

Could you have picked them too early? Thye're very sharp if you eat them when red, have to wait til they go a soft, purp ;Dley colour, and feel juicy!! Lottie

I've gone mad this year and planted 2 small bushes.  They are both in ful sun and the fruit is delicious.

They taste sour if you pick them too early.  Wait until they are almost purple in colour, and then pick them.

i've put well rotted manure around the base of the bushes, so they have a constant feed.  It seems to have worked as they are now starting to grow quite quickly
