We stumbled accross this site and it gives great info on the correct out door planting of carniverous plants. We grow ours in containers near our muck heap, solves any fly problems, take it from me these plants are happy out doors in the uk and in green houses they also eat dust house mites. You just have to listen to the plants needs.

I had some sarracenias years ago; they were really easy. Just put them in an acid compost, keep them damp, and don't feed. They get nitrogen etc. from their prey.

Aren't they just beautiful?! I'd love to get a pitcher, but am always vary of buying plants online. Interesting that they grow outside - even through the winter?

I have a venus fly trap indoors which is currently infested with white fly? erm...
gone to pot :D

Aqui,
You could always try them from seed- probably cheaper than buying a plant- If I dont do it this year, I'll be buying seeds next year.
