Memories of last week

A somewhat elderly lady was driving home from the supermarket late one evening when a blizzard started.  The snow came down very heavily, she could barely see, and the car soon became unmanageable in the snow. She didn't panic however, because she remembered the instructions that her husband had given her. "If you ever get stuck in a snowstorm, just wait for a snow plough to come along and then follow it."

So she sat in her car waiting for half an hour, until eventually a snow plough did came along, and she started to follow it. The snow was still coming down so heavily that she could only just make out the snow plough`s rear lights, but she gamely hung on, following all its twists and turns as it progressed through the snow, which she attributed to its having to avoid the numerous stranded cars which she could just see through her snow-plastered side windows.  However, after 45 minutes of this the snow plough stopped, and the driver got out of his cab and walked back to her car.  She opened her window and he asked her what she was doing.  She explained that her husband had told her if she ever got stuck in a snow storm, to follow a snow plough.

The driver nodded and said, "Well, I've finished the Tesco car park now. Do you want to follow me along to Asda?”

Good to see you back, Hugh - hope you're well!

And thank you for that - memories of the two dear old ladies who got a little bit lost the week the Glasgow-Edinburgh motorway opened.  Somehow, they'd come off the motorway, and were doing a little bit of sightseeing

---  driving down the main runway of Edinburgh airport.

"Oooh look, dear, these new roads are so fast - there's a plane on the other carriageway!!"

Airport closed, motorway closed - the lot!

All best - GAvin
