I used to love creative writing.....love to write, the old fasioned way, with that prehistoric impliment, a fountain pen and real ink.  Maybe as the kids grow I will have more time to write.......

I also used to do a lot of dress making, and for a while made all of my own clothes...another thing that has had to go on the back burner whilst the kids run my life!  :-\

I go orienteering and run the club at school.  I play the piano a bit and am an ace at scrabble.  I love taking the kids up mountains,  and that's about it.... Oh, and cooking when in the mood.

I like your taste in music Derek and you have quite a few in there that I love.  Fairport Convention are on at the Sage in Gateshead in February and we hope to go to see them, have just been waiting until the holidays ended so I could book.

My OH would be keen to know whether anyone does collect stamps - yes really!! He is a very keen Stamp Collector himself, and can be quite embarrassing at times.  When I told him I had met someone recently from Australia, all he could say was "they do very nice stamps in Australia"!  ;D  busy_lizzie

No - have to confess much to my chagrin I have never been much into soul. Not into much blues either unless it really is good.  Maybe just do not have the right vibe Max.

Soul is something I found difficult Terrace, but I do enjoy Diana Ross, Motown yes, again female vocals ...

The wombles belong rightfully collecting rubbish on Wimbledon Common ... IMHO

I really enjoy the blues, Gary Moore, Santana, Grateful Dead ... loved having 12 bar jams as well at our classes ... letting my hair down ...  ;D

Had to have a giggle at this. Reminds me of when my son came home from school and started talking about octopus tentacles and got the word tentacles wrong...

Clanger - If you like the Specials, you must be able to get on with at least half of Jamaican music of the last fifty years...sweet ska, rock steady & reggae, come on you know you wanna...

Lottie - no De la Soul or Public Enemy in your record collection?

I really enjoy the blues, Gary Moore, Santana, Grateful Dead

But, like the Specials, they just stole it, DTF...I'm sure you'd love some real blues too... :)
