 8) I dread to think what you were actually DOING in that corner, Roy  :-[
We used to have a grey cat called Wullie. People would ask "Is that your cat?" and we could reply "Aye, it's oor Wullie". What about calling your cat Beryl after "Beryl the Peril", or Minnie as in "Minnie the Minx"?
