Finished at last!
« on: April 07, 2005, 12:31:15 »
Yup, the new number 2 plot that I took on at the end of last year has now been dug and cleared and dug and raked and is now all ready for my sweetcorns and squashes.  Would have taken a pic, but forgot my camera, and it is only a sea of soil at the moment.  In fact, it is where my melon frame is located....piccy on the gallery.  Ended up finding 7 blackcurrant bushes and 2 lots of rasp. canes  Relieved that is over, now to get myself a couple of carboot loads of horse poop and start to prey for hot weather so I can think about getting plants in!  ;D

Well done EJ!  You set yourself quite a task there, but you must be feeling very pleased and satisfied at what you have achieved.  Great to be finished and ready for the pleasurable bit now, the planting and harvesting.  Hope you have got a big freezer for the masses of produce your going to have this year.  :) busy_lizzie

Hurrah EJ!  Bet you are feeling very pleased! I went up to the 2nd plot today and did some weeding, took the 12 year old with me, and we really enjoyed ourselves! If she is in the mood she is a great helper ;D
I can't wait to be in the position you are now in though, ready to go!!

So when are you getting allotment number three? Or is it a smallholding next?

A smallholding is wishful thinking on my behalf Aqui.  Our site is now full, and thanks to the neighbouring farm cutting back some hedges, they revealed another 2 plots that were totally overgrown, and those plots have been snapped up!  2 will do me fine for now, mind you, son number one starts school full time in September............
