Transplanting Blueberry plants-an opinion?

<< < (2/2)

George the Pigman:
Many thanks for all your opinions and advice. I've decided to dig them out and remove all couch grass (hopefully). Then put them into another area of the plot and replant after digging out all the weeds (again hopefully!).
I always got a good crop from them even when the acidity had long since gone. We  actually have rhododendrons growing profusely a 100 yards away which were planted in the late 19th century. Although my soil is clay it's underlied by a sandstone ridge which make it neutral. Now if your bedrock is limestone or chalk I can see you might have problems with blueberries.
