Ipad speakers crackle

Sine I need the volume working on ipad I have found that after a shot while the speakers start to crackled, then sound becomes distorted, and then impossible to determine what is said.  Turning ipad off sorts it out for a few minutes.  As I am doing languages the sound os rather necessary.  How can I remedy situation please.  I have tried blowing into speaker holes and shaking machine to no avail. All suggestions welcome.  Thanking you in advance
