My favourite hoe is the push-me pull you double edged head in the Wolf collection, available in 4 and 6 inch widths. Failing that, I go in with their narrow cultivator head, all of which can be fitted to various length handles. Failing that, I use their narrow trowel. The gadget i would love is a tool finder. Last week I accidentally buried my cuttings knife after splitting two foxglove seedlings and I dropped my reading glasses in one border after consulting a label for eventual height. Both found a few days later but I can't tell you the number of trowels and secateurs that eventually resurface after a stay in the compost heap when daughter or OH have been "helping".
got to be my wolf soil miller or crumbler or what ever its called its my most used tool makes short work of preparing seed beds , weeding and its an alround winner for me
Not that I grow potatoes in buckets but this one allows you to have look rather than scraping around.http://www.agralan.co.uk/product/potato-pot/
Jayb - yes, wavy hedge. Great tool. I have two of the wider head so that OH can play too on the rare occasions he's helping at hoeing. It's great for weeds in the gravel paths between the veggie beds. The smaller wavy head is used between veggies like salads, onions and brassicas when the rows between get narrower and both can be used with any of the different handle lengths. For flower beds I tend to be down on hands and knees with a wee cultivator head or a hand fork or trowel or just my hands so I can check for baby treasures amongst the weeds.
