In the Greenhouse this morning.
« on: February 27, 2014, 13:15:58 »
Took my camera into the greenhouse to take a few photos for my pictorial diary.

This is what I took;

Dahlia tubers beginning to sprout;

Potatoes chitting;

Chillis & Peppers germinated;

Tomatoes & Leeks germinated;

Inside the greenhouse;

I don't think they are particularly 'lanky' Gavin in fact I like that sort of length at this stage.

As you can see the length is under the cotyledons (seed leaves) meaning when I prick them out and sink them up to the seed  leaves, roots will emanate from this section thus giving me a bigger root ball prior to planting out.

Now if they had been 'lanky' above the seed leaves well!! that's a different thing!

TG, looking really productive, slight touch of envy.

Hope the rest of the season is as good.

As I said - you can plant them deep.. I always plant mine at least 2/3 buried...
